Welcome to my cozy autumn kitchen! This season is all about warmth and creating a home that feels like a big, comforting hug. For me, this year’s fall decorating is extra special. It all started with a DIY project that I began with my husband. As he’s been recovering, I had to step up and finish it myself, and I’m so incredibly proud of the result.
I installed our new kitchen backsplash, and though the grouting process was a bit messy, seeing it all come together, straight and beautiful, filled my heart with so much pride. It’s a powerful reminder that we are capable of so much.

1. Creating a Warm Welcome Corner
Every cozy kitchen needs a corner that just makes you smile. For me, that’s next to my KitchenAid mixer. I swapped the silver knob for a gold one to add a touch of warmth.
The real star here is my favorite lamp for this autumn. It casts such a soft, inviting glow. I paired it with a simple picture frame, which I update seasonally. For fall, I printed a beautiful image of children playing near the water—it just feels so serene and perfect. To complete the vignette, I added a few decorative jars and a beautiful candelabra that adds a romantic, unique touch. Lighting a candle here truly sets a perfect mood in the kitchen.
2. Styling with Layers, Books, and Textures
I love decorating with books and creating layered looks on my countertops. On a concrete-style tray, I layered a couple of my favorite cookbooks. While one of them wasn't my favorite for recipes, it looks beautiful for styling!
I then added a gorgeous floral arrangement in a vase from this year's Target collection—I’m completely in love with it. A small, matching pot and a personalized wooden rolling pin with our family initial complete this corner. The mix of colors and textures creates a personalized vibe that feels both intentional and welcoming.
3. The Beauty of Natural Wood
Wood is a perfect material for bringing warmth into a kitchen. I used a large wooden cutting board as a backdrop for a smaller, pumpkin-shaped board. This simple layering adds so much dimension.
To hold my most-used kitchen utensils, I used a wide-mouthed vase. It’s the perfect size and keeps everything within reach. I tucked in a beautiful Hobby Lobby towel with the perfect autumnal tones. The way the colors play together, mixing old and new, just makes my heart happy.
Quick Tip: How I Clean My Brass Grinder I have a beautiful brass grinder that can lose its shine over time. To restore it, I put on gloves and use a special brass cleaner with a very soft cloth. Since I use it for food, I make sure to clean it thoroughly afterward. I do this every couple of months, and it looks brand new every single time!
4. The Heart of the Kitchen: The Coffee Bar
This little corner is my absolute favorite spot. It feels like it was designed just for me and my love of coffee!
I started with a wooden tray as the base. The main autumn touch comes from a beautiful floral arrangement and a small framed picture. I had the hardest time choosing the art—a cozy teacup or a sweet drawing of deer? I finally decided on the deer because the colors and the familiar, warm feeling felt just right.
I added my favorite mugs, a creamer pot to hold my small golden spoons, and an adorable pumpkin-shaped dish for sugar packets. The final touch is a beautiful leaf-shaped dish in a deep burgundy color, perfect for holding a few chocolates or Nespresso pods.
5. Finishing Touches: Towels and Trays
The sink area needs a little love too! A beautiful dish to hold spoons and ladles while cooking is a must. And of course, you need seasonal towels. I found a lovely set of three that are easy to coordinate.
Nearby, I placed a pumpkin-shaped tray—it’s absolutely divine! On top, I styled one of my favorite purchases from Target this season: a stunning vase with scalloped edges. I filled it with gorgeous branches from Target’s new collection; the color transition is even more beautiful in person. A small candle in a "Salted Honey" fragrance and a few small pumpkins painted by my daughter make this corner feel complete.
Now, it’s time to light the candles and enjoy the cozy charisma of the season. Where I live, the air is getting crisp, the leaves are falling, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and the beautiful, transitioning view from my window.
